WHY WE DO IT
Diversity is not a moral compass. It is a strategic necessity for building a social mandate at a scale broad enough to bend the arc of history towards an environmentally sustainable climate safe future.

In a world facing unprecedented ecological and social upheaval, MLI’s unique strength lies in weaving cultural fluency into the very fabric of climate and sustainability strategy. Cross-cultural skills, mindsets and expertise is critical to unlocking collaboration at all levels. From high level bi-lateral and multi-lateral dialogue through community relations at a local level. Harnessing deeper trust through cross-cultural understanding is what accelerates progress. With 4 in 5 people on our planet being culturally and linguistically diverse building this cross-cultural communications bridge cannot be a side project or afterthought in strategy work.
The policies and technologies for a sustainable future already exist. What’s missing is the collective will: the social mandate from everyday people that gives governments, businesses and communities the confidence to act quickly and boldly. Our work addresses that root cause of the problem cycle, and we invite you to join us to build a new solution cycle together.

OUR STORY
Founded through co-creation, our story is of building open doors where walls once stood. The Multicultural Leadership Initiative is a shared space where emerging and established voices can collaborate together across the vast multicultural, multifaith, multilingual and panpolitical mosaic of our world.
Operating across Australia-Pacific, Asia, Africa and the Americas we deliberately call ourselves an 'initiative' as our resolute promise to remain humble and steadfast in service to a greater ecosystem of shared purpose: a sustainable environment that guarantees an environmentally sustainable climate safe future for all.
